SUCCESS STORY

The Bloom Closet Express Visits The Methodist Home

Together Georgia Member Bloom Our Youth recently opened "The Bloom Closet Express," a mobile boutique for children in foster care or group settings to shop. The Bloom Closet began as a brick-and-mortar store for children in foster care and their families to have a boutique-like shopping experience. The Bloom Closet provides clothing, toys, and treats to children and youth in foster care and is 100% donor funded and volunteer operated. Bloom recognized a need for youth in group settings to have a fun and safe shopping experience, and the Bloom Closet Express was born!

"In addition to the children we serve at The Bloom Closet, The Bloom Closet Express gives us the capacity to serve an additional 100 foster children per month all across the state," says Becky Davenport, CEO of Bloom Our Youth. "Express visits are now booking a couple months in advance, and we are so excited to finally see this dream become a reality!"

The Bloom Closet Express hosted a pop-up boutique at The Methodist Home's Macon campus for their girls to shop for clothing, school supplies, games, and more. "It was a BLAST! We are grateful for this ministry that blesses youth in foster care in tangible and meaningful ways," says The Methodist Home. Becky Davenport says, "it was such a pleasure for us to travel to Macon and offer a fun shopping experience to the girls at the Methodist Home last week, and our team is looking forward to returning to serve the boys in January."
