Bald Ridge Lodge seeks Youth Care Specialist for boys ages 12-21. Contact: aribbler@baldridgelodge.org Bald Ridge Lodge, Inc., is a non-profit boys home, located in Forsyth County, Georgia which serves young men ages 12-21. We serve those who are in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services or referred by the local Juvenile Court. Through partnership with referring agencies, as well as the families, we focus on family reunification. While at the Lodge, boys receive counseling, mentoring, tutoring, community support, engage in positive activities, and learn life skills. We are licensed to serve up to 12 residents. Purpose of Youth Care Specialist: The Youth Care Specialist plays a crucial role in all daily operations and interactions with the youth served at Bald Ridge Lodge. They carry out each young person’s unique service plans under the direction of the Program Director and Case Manager, as well as provide therapeutic behavioral intervention. The Youth Support Specialist(s) provide 24-hour, awake supervision, and ensure the safety of each resident when they are on duty. They are also responsible for following all Bald Ridge Lodge policies and procedures, as well as meeting State licensing and contractual requirements for the agency. They provide routine, accurate documentation for their shift, and contribute to the required reporting measures for each youth. Youth Care Specialists are trained in and thereby utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach for behavior modification with residents. The Nurtured Heart Approach teaches youth to channel their intense behaviors into demonstrations of their greatness. Through caregiver mentoring relationships, residents have firsthand experiences of their success. Staff refuse to energize negative behaviors, instead energizing the positive characteristics of our residents, while being clear on rules and expectations.
