Psychologist Position/Contract The Psychologist provides community-based assessments as appropriate to children, adolescents, and their parents or guardians to address individual/family issues and mental health. Psychologist carries out responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and procedures; s/he reports to Executive Director. -- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred. --Sign up bonuses are available! Psychologist Responsibilities & Duties --Upon receiving referral, make collateral calls to referring agency, review all notes pertaining to the family or individual’s history, diagnosis and case planning. --Conduct mental health assessments --Work in partnership with DFCS Case Managers to help individuals and families achieve their full potential. -- Provide direct clinical treatment/therapeutic recommendations as appropriate to children, adolescents, and parents or guardians -- Develop treatment plans, implement interventions, review outcomes, revisit/revise strategies, and employ other methods compatible with agency principles and practices -- Engage client, supports, caregivers and other key participants in active, change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement -- Collaborate with all relevant internal/external systems/participants to ensure buy-in and cooperation, and to maximize effectiveness throughout treatment -- Link consumers to additional resources as appropriate, including schools, DFCS, medical support, etc. -- Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts which promote peer and supervisory review and feedback (electronic health record) -- Participate in agency staff, supervision, and external professional development opportunities to extend knowledge and remain current on best practices --Attend court hearings or case panels to testify as requested by attorneys and DFCS Psychologist Qualifications & Skills -- Must have already completed master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field. --This individual must be a licensed PhD. or Psy.D level clinical psychologist. This individual must have direct psychological testing experience as well as experience working with children and families both. --This individual must have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to quickly build trust and rapport with parents and children. Professionalism, accuracy in scoring and timeliness of written reports. -- Training and experience in evidence-based treatment models -- Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse cultures -- Excellent verbal and written communication skills -- Flexible work schedule Required:h --Must be license eligible with Georgia’s Secretary of State. --Must demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills to provide assessment and clinical services. --Must practice by the ethical standards of the professional association and state licensing board. --Maintain compliance with required trainings. -- Psychologists will be required to complete and pass a criminal background check (DHS OIG) and other safety screenings and drug screen. --Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of insurance --Access to a computer or laptop -- Sign up bonuses are available!!
