Wellspring Living Partners with Chastain Horse Park

 

Therapeutic horse lessons help survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation take the reins. Since 2019, Wellspring Living's Women’s Residential Program has partnered with fellow nonprofit Chastain Horse Park to offer therapeutic horseback riding lessons, called Equine Therapy.

 

Goshen Homes Celebrates 10 Reunifications

 

"The Goal" for children in foster care is successful reunification with their family of origin. Together Georgia Member Goshen Homes recently reunified 10 children with 4 families of origin.

Not only were all of these sibling groups placed together during their time in care (another key component of Goshen Homes' mission), they are leaving foster care returning to healthy families!

 

Georgia HOPE Provides Summer Fun Through Therapeutic Play with Camp HOPE

 

Each summer Georgia HOPE hosts summer camps in Northwest Georgia called Camp HOPE. Camp HOPE is a week long camp filled with therapeutic activities for elementary and middle-school age children. The Camp HOPE 2021 theme was "Heroes for HOPE" and the children enjoyed channeling their inner super heroes all week!

 

Murphy-Harpst Residents Attend Girls’ Empowerment Camp

 

This summer, girls at Murphy-Harpst Children's Centers had the unique and incredible opportunity to learn about branding and empowerment from Rachael Bozsik, a highly respected business coach, professional, and entrepreneur. The week-long camp included guest speakers like Michaela Mucha, a graphic designer for Disney, and Faith Jones, author and Netflix star who Zoomed in to talk about topics like self-care, goal setting, effective communication, and support for each other. The participants concluded the week by opening a pop-up store on campus to sell jewelry they had made.

Devereux Celebrates Joann and Bobby Jackson's 20 Years of Fostering

 

Joann and Bobby Jackson, Woodstock residents, have been foster parents with Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health of Georgia (Devereux) since April 17, 2001, and have fostered over 40 youth in their home. The Jackson’s have fostered some of Devereux’s most challenging and at-risk youth with many children remaining in their home for as long as nine years or until aging out of the system.
