Mental Health Therapist Position in Forsyth County Schools (Associate Licensed or higher REQUIRED)
The Mental Health Therapist/Counselor provides in home and school-based therapeutic counseling as appropriate to children, adolescents, and their parents or guardians to address individual/family issues and mental health. Therapist carries out counseling responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and procedures; s/he reports to a Regional Supervisor. Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred. Mental Health Therapist Responsibilities & Duties -- Provide direct in home & school-based clinical treatment/therapeutic counseling as appropriate to children, adolescents, and parents or guardians -- Develop treatment plans, implement interventions, review outcomes, revisit/revise strategies, and employ other methods compatible with agency principles and practices -- Engage client, supports, caregivers and other key participants in active, change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement -- Collaborate with all relevant internal/external systems/participants to ensure buy-in and cooperation, and to maximize effectiveness throughout treatment -- Link consumers to additional resources as appropriate, including schools, DFCS, medical support, etc. -- Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts which promote peer and supervisory review and feedback -- Participate in agency staff, supervision, and external professional development opportunities to extend knowledge and remain current on best practices Mental Health Therapist Qualifications & Skills -- Must have already completed master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field -- Associate license (LAMFT, LAPC, LMSW) or full licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in Georgia is REQUIRED -- Two years of community- or home-based mental health counseling experience -- Bilingual in Spanish and English is ideal. -- Training and experience in evidence-based treatment models -- Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse cultures -- Excellent verbal and written communication skills -- Flexible work schedule with the ability to work evenings/weekends -- Valid driver's license, vehicle & laptop Mental Health Therapist Benefits 401(k), 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Health insurance, Health Savings Account, Paid Time Off, Vision insurance Agency Description Family Ties provides intensive, in home and school-based assessment, counseling and community integration services for families and children.
