Job Summary:
Wellroot Family Services has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned residential services professional to lead and grow residential services for youth and families in the Northern half of Georgia. The Director of Residential Programs is responsible for the overall operation of Wellroot’s current residential programs - an apartment-based transitional living program and community-based independent living program for youth aging out of foster care, and a family housing program. The Director of Residential Programs will also work closely with organizational leadership to identify communities in the North Georgia Conference (North of Macon) who are in need of youth and family housing and develop strategies to meet those needs, including identifying and cultivating potential public funding partners. The incumbent will represent the agency with the Department of Family and Children’s Services as well as with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Wellroot provides a strengths-based, trauma sensitive model of care to youth and families who are unstably housed, and the Director of Residential program is critical to setting a strengths-based culture within the residential programs. Research has shown that positive relationships with caring adults is critical to clients achieving long term stability, and the Director must model this for their team. The candidate will also work closely with the Community Development department of the agency to build and grow opportunities for church and community volunteers to be caring adults in the lives of our residential clients and to support them on their journey towards independence. The ultimate purpose of this position is to facilitate growth of clients so that they can achieve independence and permanent stable housing.

Oversees services to youth, young adults and family housing clients to enhance growth in the areas of their physical, mental, social, educational, vocational and spiritual needs. To provide services in a manner which upholds the integrity of the program and its operational procedures.
Works closely with the SVP of Programs, the Chief Strategy Officer and the CEO to assess and monitor community housing needs. Works collaboratively with agency leadership to develop and execute plans for growth in the residential program.
Maintains sound managerial technique to insure a strengths-based culture and an effective service delivery system.
Sets up team meetings, treatment planning meetings, staff meetings, individual supervision meetings, as means to monitor accountability and effectiveness of programs.
Works closely with and coordinates staff who render services directly to the youth, including but not limited to Religious Life, Education and Life Skills, Recreation and Activities, and Program Support Coordinator.
Oversees a team of residential Life Skills coaches to ensure sound case management that moves clients towards program completion and independence.
Interacts with Facilities and Operations team regarding building maintenance and distribution of supplies.
Works in close collaboration with the Human Resources department to recruit, screen, interview and recommend for hire all residential program employees.
Provides regular supervision, and helps coordinate training to employees in the residential programs.
Evaluates programs and staff according to the agency's standards of performance.
Oversees the screening, assessment, placement planning, and transitioning services of clients in residential programs, ensuring that staff follow Wellroot, COA, and EAGLE standards governing each service area.
Oversees the financial system, including billing and collections from public funders including the Division of Family and Children’s Services.
Works closely with the Development department to identify new sources of public funding, including representing the residential program department in community based and government meetings (DFCS, HUD and others as needed).
Monitors Wellroot record keeping system, including client records; accountability for reviews and audits, OPM standards, and COA accreditation inspections; meeting deadlines for all internal reports; and ability to work within the agency's technical software system.
Maintains on-going participation in Wellroot’s quality assurance program, representing the Family Housing, ILP and TLP services on the QA committees Coordinates preparation of the COA review for service areas, every four years, and more often, if needed.
Oversees the updating of the ILP, Family Housing, and TLP operations manual.
Stays familiar with Wellroot philosophies, policies and procedures in order to implement consistently throughout the service areas.
Oversees the submitting of program outcomes to the Director of Performance and Quality Improvement, and to oversee the resident’s survey initiative. In developing outcomes, seek measurement instruments that are criterion and evidence based.
Be a positive factor in public relations by representing the agency well in speaking engagements and in contact with others in the community.
Reports to the Senior Vice President of Programs on an ongoing basis concerning the functioning of all areas of programming.
Performs other duties, as assigned by the SVP of Programs.

Have a master’s degree in a human services field (a license in the field of social work, counseling, or psychology with in the state of Georgia is preferred)
Have a minimum of three years’ experience in human service field, and experience in supervising and management
Experience with all Office Suite Software; Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Possess good communication and writing skills, and the ability to conduct training and lead meetings effectively
Own and keep an automobile well maintained for occasional business use
Understand that position is full time and will involve evening or weekend hours, including managing an on-call rotation
Ability to work with respect for cultural diversity
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong strategic thinking skills
Agree to support the agency’s mission statement, organizational values and beliefs, and its quality assurance plan

Work Environment:
The work is conducted in an office setting and across the campus. Fast-paced, working with vulnerable clients. The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule which will include evenings and weekends is required. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Usually sits in front of a computer 50% of the time.

Salary Range: $62,500 - $70,000
