Description

The SOAR Program Specialist is responsible for development and implementation of each child’s SOAR Intervention Plan. SOAR Program Specialist functions as a member of the Treatment Team and has the primary responsibility for behavior management and intervention.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Review all previous assessments and collect data on current behaviors.
  2. Collaborate with SOAR Program Supervisor to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessment
  3. Develop SOAR Intervention Plan (SIP).
  4. Develop materials needed for implementation of SIP.
  5. Collaborate with program supervisor to train all staff on all aspects of SIP.
  6. Coordinate visits with Program Staff to ensure child and family needs as well as program requirements are being met.
  7. Monitor implementation of SIP in all settings.
  8. Conduct monthly meetings (CFTM) with team to discuss progress and proposed changes.
  9. Work collaboratively with all CCS team members to ensure consistency across all settings.
  10. Attend IEP and CCS ISP meetings.
  11. Process intakes according to agreed upon procedures and standards.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Provide referral information regarding agency and community services.
  2. Advocate on behalf of family, welfare of children/adults and agency development.
  3. Engage families/individuals in processing their need for changes to improve themselves and/or their families.
  4. Complete progress notes within the specified time frame.
  5. Notify Program Supervisor of all planned and unplanned absences as soon as possible.
  6. Complete visits with children/youth/families as assigned. Minimum number of visits and hours must be completed each week, unless other arrangements are made and approved by Program supervisor.
  7. Represent agency favorably at all times.
  8. Lead training as assigned.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 21 years of age.

  1. Bachelor’s degree (from an accredited school) in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field, and at least 1 year experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses.
  2. Possess a knowledge of current practices in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  3. Possess the ability, flexibility and maturity to render the duties and responsibilities required of this position.
  4. Problem solving ability; able to develop and implement procedures.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.
